Passionist Family Groups Renewal Weekends
What is a renewal weekend?
The Renewal Weekend aims to revitalise Family Groups within a Parish. This initiative honours the history of family groups while inviting new members to either join an existing group or a new one.
The Northern Region Passionist Family Groups Team is made up of Father Ray Sanchez CP, Leanne Hyland (Diocesan Coordinator) and Deacon Shane Hyland.
The entire process is coordinated and tailored to meet the needs of your parish. Father Ray can preside at all Masses, or if the weekend is led by Leanne and Deacon Shane, Deacon Shane will provide the homilies on the theme of Family Groups. The Diocesan Coordinator will manage registrations, encourage parishioners to join, and supply all necessary promotional and support materials. The weekend can be further enriched by morning teas, celebrations, organised talks by Father Ray, or prayer and reflection sessions on spiritual practices led by Deacon Shane & Leanne.
The Renewal Weekends are highly effective, and most parishes can successfully form at least one new group with numerous members.
The expense for a Parish Renewal weekend is approximately $500, plus any travel and accommodation costs.
Testimonial
“The renewal weekend at Sawtell Parish was a wonderful opportunity for our existing FG to reconnect and to also invite parishoners to see first hand the opportunities they have to deepen their sense of community within the church and make new like minded friends.” Sawtell Parish.
